A man is dead after testing the effectiveness of his new bullet proof vest, prosecutors in the United Kingdom shave aid.
40-year-old Ian Catley has been sentenced to serve 7 years in prison after being convicted of manslaughter.
Police investigation revealed that Catley shot Philip Harper in a field in Cambridgeshire, killing him almost instantly.
According to reports, Harper visited a military surplus store the day before the incident and was very interested to test the effectiveness of his new bullet proof vest.
Unfortunately for him, the vest was protective and not bullet proof. Harper was shot at a distance of less than 20 feet, causing him immediate catastrophic injuries and death.
Harper was rushed to a hospital, but nothing could be done to save his life.
Catley and Harper were said to be really good friends.
